Eco-fixation

‘A breath of fresh air in the middle of the city’

Eco-fixation is a project that looks forward into the future, offering sustainable urban solutions and possibilities. The design merges with the boundaries of architecture and native landscape, creating new ecosystems.
The master plan is located adjacent to the botanical gardens by the riverside expressway, and the building site is on the edge of Margaret Street, Brisbane City. The building appreciates the outside environment. It creates opportunities to grow native plants and trees, forming a garden for recreation. The glass panels are well placed to bring views into and outside, allowing plenty of daylight to enter.
Natural Daylight scatters through large glass panels and less sheltered spaces. Skylights on the roofs create shelters just enough for the plants to grow steadily yet make the roof accessible.
This new introduction of the landscape creates all-year-round usage for the city people. The vegetation adds reduction of the carbon levels and adds more fresh air into the urban atmosphere. It also creates a new place for habitation for smaller animal birds, bridging the gap between urban lands. People have access to long corridors to walk and exercise by the river.
