Elderly Home

The strategy of the project is to integrate the senior living with the Heart Rehabilitation centre. It connects other elements like social, public and private spaces in a modular form. The outcomes create a landmark in an urban context within the community. The High rise has accommodation that is divided into private and semi-private spaces with unique balconies where the dwellers are encouraged to be a part of the larger society. The rehabilitation centre is the lowrise zone with complete medical facilities for cardiac diseases with counselling and nutrition assistance. The senior living and rehab centre share a new level of comfort in the communal spaces like the gym, pool, terrace gardens. The building is about 40 stories which can accommodate around 400 elderly people. All of this is proposed keeping in mind the procurement model type where Medical Institutions come together with the architects to build this.
Facade elevations have a rhythmic dialogue of balconies providing Brisbane river views. Zigzag balconies have mirrored wooden railings forming asymmetrical elevations.
